Gusty winds at DFW International Airport forced a temporary ground stop of planes Friday afternoon.

Throughout the day Friday, DFW Airport had recorded winds between 20 to 30 mph, with wind gusts up to 48 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 3 p.m. Friday, flights at Love Field Airport had not been affected.

All of North Texas — including Dallas, Denton, Collin and Tarrant counties — was under a wind advisory until 6 p.m. Friday. The Weather Service cautioned that gusts up to 50 mph were possible.

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult,” the Weather Service warned in a statement.

Winds were expected to ease Friday evening and into the weekend, KXAS-TV (NBC5) weather anchor Keisha Burns said.

“As we head into the weekend, much calmer weather will prevail,” Burns said. “We will see lots of sunshine, calmer winds, [and] it will be dry.”

Highs in the mi,d-50s are forecast for Saturday, then are expected to reach the 60s on Sunday and Monday, Burns said. North Texas’ next chance of rain is the middle of next week, when a storm system is expected to move through the area, she said.

Here’s what KXAS-TV (NBC5) has in the forecast:

Saturday: 56/32

Sunday: 60/38

Monday: 65/68

Tuesday: 57/47; chance of showers

Wednesday: 56/44; showers possible
