- Center back Yeimar Gómez makes his first appearance since suffering a knock against the Chicago Fire in match two of the MLS is Back Tournament. The Colombian defender starts alongside Shane O’Neill, who slots into the left-side spot in place of Xavier Arreaga, who picked up a quad strain in training.
- Offseason Designated Player signing João Paulo makes his first appearance for the club since the 1-1 draw against Columbus Crew SC on March 7. Tonight’s match against Portland also marks the Brazilian’s first start with club captain Nicolás Lodeiro, who missed the start of the 2020 regular season through injury.
- Joevin Jones, who picked up an assist against LAFC as a substitute in the MLS is Back Tournament Round of 16, comes into the starting lineup at left back in place of Nouhou.
