Cold air to start, brisk winds with milder temps later - WKOW

paksijenong.blogspot.com

MADISON (WKOW) - Temperatures dropped significantly overnight, and most are waking up to single digit values across southern Wisconsin.

Main and side roads may be partially snow covered due to yesterday's clipper system bringing about an inch, or a little more to most of the region. Dane County and to the south and west received higher totals than others.

Madison's official report from Dane Co. Regional Airport was 1.8 inches.

Wind chill values dip to below 0 for most of the region this morning.

Although, temperature and wind chill values slowly rebound as the afternoon continues. Highs in the low 30s are possible, along with wind chill values in the mid-to-upper teens.

Breezy, southerly, southwesterly winds will help raise temperatures to more seasonal values. Speeds start to increase this afternoon, gusts up to 30 mph.

Highs in the mid-30s are likely Thursday, with colder air returning Friday and for part of the weekend.

Next chance for snow is Saturday evening, night into Sunday.
