The Game

South Dakota is hitting the road for its longest road trip of the season. The first stop is St. Louis where the Coyotes will face St. Louis at 3 p.m. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the game on the Coyote Sports Network with Carter Woodiel, carried on KVHT 106.3 FM in Yankton/Vermillion. The radio broadcast will also be available for free on The Varsity Network app.

The Coyotes

South Dakota is coming off a home win against Bellevue last Wednesday, where all 11 players entered the scoring column. Senior transfer Madison Grange, who had 16 points in a Coyote win against Bradley last Sunday, led all scorers with 20 points. Redshirt freshman Carley Duffney added a season-high 14 points off the bench in her third collegiate game.

As a squad, the Coyotes are shooting 45 percent from deep, and shot a program-record 19 three-pointers in the season opener against Midland. Last time out, Grange made all four three-pointers she took. Redshirt sophomore Alexi Hempe has been making an impact as a starter this season and is averaging 13 points per game.

Grace Larkins, the reigning Summit League Sixth Woman of the Year, is shining in the starting lineup this season. She led the Coyotes in points (15.3 ppg), rebounds (7.0 rpg), assists (5.5 apg) and steals (3.0 spg) during the first two weeks.

The Billikens

Saint Louis is 1-4 to start the season after its second half rally fell short Friday night against Green Bay. Senior Kyla McMakin has registered 31 points in two of SLU's five games this season, including a near double-double effort against Green Bay on Friday with nine rebounds. Graduate student Camree Clegg is perfect from the free throw line this season (14-14). Entering the weekend, only Abby Prohaska (San Diego State) has made more across the NCAA without a miss (16-16).

The Series

Sunday marks the first matchup between the Coyotes and the Billikens. South Dakota is the second of six 2021-22 NCAA Tournament teams that Saint Louis will match up against this season.

One Last Thing

The Coyotes are No. 23 in the preseason Mid Major Top 25 after finishing on top of the poll last year and with a No. 24 ranking in the final Coaches Poll. South Dakota head to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Holiday Classic on November 25-26.
