As the road construction season accelerates, PennDOT has announced the start of another project, this one on Philadelphia Street in Indiana.
Starting on Monday, restrictions will take effect at the intersection of Philadelphia Street and 11th Street. From 7 AM to 5 PM each day through October, traffic on Philly will be maintained through the intersection with width restrictions in place as crews begin to replace a small box culvert over White’s Run. Traffic on 11th Street will be detoured around the site using Water Street, Church Street, and 12th Street. The sidewalk on the north side of the project will be closed, but pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalk on the south side, near Bruno’s.
The pandemic delayed the start of the work, which caused Bruno’s to cancel this year’s Italian Festival, as the owners could not be assured that the work would be finished on time.
This is part of a $4.06 million group bridge replacement project in Indiana County.
PennDOT urges drivers to slow down and pay attention to signs and flaggers in the construction zone.
