Say they found hidden cocaine, handgun

REDMOND, Ore (KTVZ) -- A Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team investigation into cocaine trafficking into Central Oregon led to a traffic stop in Redmond and the arrest of a 19-year-old Redmond man, drug agents said Monday.

Blayke Solomon was driving a BMW 325i when he was stopped and arrested last Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest Sixth Street and Maple Avenue, Lt. Ken Mannix said.

CODE Team detectives had information that Solomon was returning to Deschutes County from the Portland area, bringing back drugs to sell, Mannix said.

A search of Solomon's car turned up about two ounces of cocaine and a handgun hidden inside, the lieutenant said. Other evidence of cocaine sales and distribution also were found in the car.

Solomon was booked into the county jail in Bend on charges of cocaine possession and distribution, carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a firearm. He was released early the following morning after posting 10 percent of his $42,500 bail, a jail officer said.
