NASCAR’s top Cup series returns to the track today for the “Real Heroes 400” at Darlington, South Carolina on “The Track Too Tough to Tame”. Brad Keselowski has the pole position, which was determined by a random drawing.
The last Nascar Cup series race was ten weeks ago. Kevin Harvick leads the points race despite not having won yet this year. The race today will also feature the return of Ryan Newman, who suffered a serious head injury in a last-lap crash at the Daytona 500 in February.
And after fifteen months, former Cup champ Matt Kenseth returns to racing, taking over the Chip Ganassi car of Kyle Larson, who was fired for using a racial slur in an iRacing event. Kenseth, who is now 48, will be the oldest driver in the field. He retired in 2018.
