MLB fans will get their first look at the league’s 2020 schedule Monday night.
The 60-game schedule will be released live on MLB Network at 6 p.m. ET, according to an announcement from the league. Host Matt Vasgersian and analysts Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci will break down the ins and outs of the season, which will begin on July 23 and 24.

The Red Sox will play 10 games (likely split into four series lasting two or three games) against each divisional opponent (the Yankees, Rays, Orioles and Blue Jays). That would mean five home games and five road games against each club, though Toronto might not be able to play at home due to Canadian regulations and might have to rely on alternate or neutral sites.
Boston will also play each NL East team (the Braves, Nationals, Mets, Phillies and Marlins) both at home and on the road, though the number of games against each club will vary. The expectation, according to Stark, is that each team would play six games against one interleague rival (likely the Braves or Phillies for the Red Sox) and either three or four games against each of the other four teams.
This is just speculation -- but it would make sense for the schedule to line up so that clubs stay in one geographical area for multiple series. For example, don’t be surprised if the Red Sox have their road series against the Mets come directly before or after a road series in the Bronx against the Yankees. The same could be said for road trips to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and maybe even Tampa and Miami.
It appears the Red Sox are likely to open the season at home against the Orioles on July 24, though that’s not yet confirmed. Teams are also looking to schedule two or three exhibition games at the end of summer training camp.
