Overnight snow is winding down Friday morning, while southerly winds bring slightly milder temperatures.
Friday’s forecast
Under the influence of mostly cloudy skies and winds predominantly out of the south and southeast, much of Minnesota is starting Friday in the 20s and 30s Friday morning, which is close to average for late October. The one exception in the Arrowhead, where calm winds and breaks in the clouds allowed temperatures to drop into the teens overnight.
Thanks to that southerly wind flow, highs will warm into the upper 30s and low 40s across the state.
This is still about 10 degrees below average, but milder than most of Minnesota’s recent weather.
The light snow from Thursday night has largely tapered off as of Friday morning, but cloud cover lingers much of the morning, with more sunshine into the afternoon.
Temperatures rise even more for Halloween, and next week could bring a few 60s. That extended forecast will be updated around 9:30 a.m.
