The U.S. men's national team fielded its second youngest lineup ever for its friendly against Panama in Austria (2:45 p.m. ET on FS1, UniMas, TUDN).
The average age of 22 years, 154 days is second only to the team that started against Italy on Nov. 20, 2018 (22 years, 71 days).
Gregg Berhalter made four changes from last week's starting XI against Wales: Former MLSers Tim Ream and Reggie Cannon slotted in along the back line, while LA Galaxy academy product Uly Llanez and Nicholas Gioacchini will start in attack.
USMNT starting lineup vs. Panama (4-3-3, left to right): GK Zack Steffen -- Sergiño Dest, Matt Miazga, Tim Ream, Reggie Cannon -- Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Yunus Musah -- Uly Llanez, Nicholas Gioacchini, Gio Reyna
Ream, a former member of the Red Bulls, was named captain for the 7th time in his career and he partners with another ex-RBNY center back in Miazga. Cannon lined up at right back, while Sergino Dest was moved to left back.
Among the USMNT newcomers, Nicholas Gioacchini makes his first start at striker after LA Galaxy midfielder Sebastian Lletget played as a "false nine" against Wales. Meanwhile, Yunus Musah also became the first USMNT player to start multiple matches before the age of 18.
