PRAIRIE Du SAC, Wis. — A Madison man was arrested Thursday morning after Sauk County deputies reported the smell of marijuana coming from his car during a traffic stop.
A deputy arrested William E. Jakel, 60, on several tentative drug charges, including operating with a restricted controlled substance 7th-offense, according to a release from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy pulled Jakel over around 1:30 a.m. on Highway 12 near Prairie Rd. in the township of Prairie Du Sac.
The deputy smelled a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle during the stop, according to a release by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office. Jakel was also asked to perform a field sobriety test, the release said.
Jakel was arrested and taken to the Sauk County Jail.
No mugshot was immediately available for Jakel.
