Anderson, Glasper and Peate
3 people were arrested and guns and drugs were seized during a traffic stop on U.S. 20, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office. This is another of several U.S. 20 arrests that have occurred in recent months.
On June 9, 2021, at 1:33 a.m., Deputy Austin Howell stopped a speeding vehicle on U.S. 20 near Fail Road. He also noticed the vehicle had nearly gone off the highway’s edge at one point. He stopped the vehicle near CR-350E.
The vehicle’s occupants were identified as Ernest Glasper (driver), 35, of Michigan City; Patrice Peate, 39, of Mishawaka, and Michael Anderson, 33, of Mishawaka.
Deputy John Roby Jr., who had arrived to assist Howell, saw a gun in the car and also found a synthetic drug that had been thrown out of the vehicle by one of the occupants. Also found in the vehicle once the three had gotten out were a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun, a loaded 9 mm Taurus handgun, more synthetic drug, and cocaine.
The three were arrested and taken to the La Porte County Jail.
Peate was charged with Carrying a Handgun without a License, Class A Misdemeanor, and Possession of a Synthetic Drug, Class A Misdemeanor. He was released after posting a $600 cash bond.
Glasper was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, L4 Felony; Possession of Cocaine, L4 Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Prior Conviction), L5 Felony.
Anderson was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, L4 Felony; Possession of Cocaine, L4 Felony; Carrying a Handgun without a License (Prior Conviction), L5 Felony; and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Class A Misdemeanor.
Glasper and Anderson were both being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
