Officers of the Russells Point Police Department report a Groveport woman was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence during a Saturday evening traffic stop.
Passenger Janelle Sater, 42, was placed under arrest following the 7:40 p.m. stop.
Officers on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 33 and Lincoln Boulevard stopped driver Glenn Gibson of Groveport for a minor traffic violation.
Officers noticed Sater’s hands were visibly shaking and observed other criminal indicators, prompting officers to investigate further.
When Gibson was asked to exit his vehicle, an officer watched Sater kick something under her seat on the passenger’s side.
Sater and Gibson were both detained and K9 Bruno was deployed and subsequently alerted on the vehicle. Officers located a small bag containing several plastic bags with white powder residue and an additional plastic bag containing a white powdery substance.
Sater told officers the drugs were hers. The drugs were field-tested and tested positive for cocaine.
Gibson was released from the scene and Sater was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department assisted at the scene.
The case has been sent to Logan County Prosecutors officer for review.
