Impaired driver, Nagel Road
Police were called to a Nagel Road store at 8:47 p.m. Sept. 10 for a report of a man seen rummaging through the caller’s car in the parking lot. Officers located the suspect driving from the area and stopped him. The man was described as extremely uncooperative, at one point spitting on an officer. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and resisting arrest and was taken to the Lorain County Jail on the criminal charges as well as traffic charges.
Traffic crash/impaired driver, Mills Road
Police received a call at 11:10 a.m. Sept. 10 of a pickup truck that had struck a light pole at State Route 83 and Mills Road and then left the scene with heavy front end damage. The truck was seen traveling north on SR 83 and was pulled over. The driver was arrested for OVI, failure to control and leaving the scene of an accident. The truck was towed from the scene and the driver was taken to the Lorain County Jail.
Theft, Center Road
A resident reported a sign stolen from his yard overnight Sept. 11-12 by an unknown person. Police had no further information at the time of the report.
Drugs, Jaycox Road
Police responded to a call of a juvenile male standing at the corner of Jaycox Road and Keller Drive at 2:36 a.m. Sept. 11. The boy was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol and was released to his father
