The Chicago Bears offseason was mostly quiet on adding players to their defense.
However, the team made some moves in the NFL Draft to get several defensive players.
They got defensive players Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker, Dominique Robinson, and Elijah Hicks from the draft.
But only Gordon and Brisker are starting this season out of the group.
Both Robinson and Hicks will serve as backups for the 2022 season.
The Bears are facing pass-heavy teams in the NFC North, meaning Gordon and Brisker are key to stopping the pass.
So can they help the Bears stop quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers in the NFC North?
Gordon Shows Promise Since Joining The Bears
If you want to stop Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, you need your corners to be at their best.
Gordon is continually showing improvement while his defending of receivers.
Kyler Gordon is a competitor. He plays with a tough edge and is more than willing to compete at the catch point.

It’s the improvement he needs, as he’ll face some of the best quarterbacks from his nickel corner position.
The Bears’ secondary hasn’t been the same since their 2018 run.
However, the addition of Gordon gives the team hope that they can slowly return to those glory days.
With the rookie corner being a competitor on defense, he won’t let receivers easily catch any passes coming his way.
But what about their rookie safety, Jaquan Brisker?
His time with Chicago has an interesting turn for the team and fans.
Brisker’s Preseason Injury Prevented Him From Playing
No team wants to see their rookie investment suffer a preseason injury.
However, this happened to Brisker in the first preseason game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Matt Eberflus says the #Bears are hopeful Jaquan Brisker will be back for Week 1. Says the injury happened in the win over KC.

But with a hopeful return in week one, there’s still time for the rookie to shine in 2022.
While the injury was a setback for playing time, he didn’t waste his time off the field.
He took the time to study and stay briefed when the team had meetings.
However, he needs more practice time, despite some believing his first preseason game as a success.
Jaquan Brisker keeps making plays. Natural instincts on display. A really promising piece of the Bears' future on defense.

The game against the Chiefs showed some promise, but it also shows some concerns.
At least two plays saw him falling to the ground when facing an offensive player.
He’ll need to keep himself from letting those players push him around.
Until he does, he remains a question mark on the Bears’ defense.
Gordon And Brisker Have Long Season Ahead Of Them
While Gordon shows consistency with his improvement as a player, Brisker hasn’t.
However, Brisker can still impress the Bears and fans as he returns from his injury.
But the Bears’ first opponent of 2022 will not make life easy for him.
As the season progresses, the tough offenses will continue to challenge both rookies.
With the Bears making both players starters, they must learn quickly.
However, only one player looks ready for this challenge.
That player is Gordon, as he shows his aggressive play as a defender.
So this means the Bears’ defense can only get little help from their four new defensive rookies.
However, as they learn, they can become cornerstones of the Bears’ defense for years to come.
