Among the breathless revelations, the Duke of Sussex claims his brother, William, now the Prince of Wales, shoved him to the ground and broke his necklace in a scuffle after William complained that Harry’s wife, Meghan, was “difficult, rude and abrasive.”
While Harry reports being afraid of his brother, he paints a different picture of himself as an army helicopter pilot. He says he killed 25 Taliban, regarding them as chess pieces. All families have their squabbles. We can’t all score a multi-million-dollar book contract and a Netflix series by selling details of fraternal conflicts or family secrets. When you’re royal, it’s news when there’s a bust-up in the family. The only reason he and his wife are paid millions for their stories is because he was raised in a palace. It’s hard to see what job he’s fit for without that link. His army experience has equipped him with the ability to fly a helicopter and shoot a gun — hardly unique talents.
It’s difficult to give advice to someone who has so firmly claimed the high moral ground, but we’d urge Harry to remember that people in the real world, who didn’t grow up in a life of privilege, have real problems. Stop whining and grow up.
