Part of the incident was caught on camera.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An investigation is underway after a dog attacked kids and a bus driver on Wednesday.
It happened as students were waiting to get on an Aldine ISD bus in a neighborhood near the intersection of Antoine Drive and West Greens Road.
According to Harris County Animal Control, the male pitbull reportedly bit two children and the bus driver. They said the dog had already been confined by its owners by the time they got there.
According to Aldine ISD, the bus driver saw the dog attacking the kids at the bus stop and honked the horn to try to scare the dog away and get the kids on the bus. While that was happening, the dog ended up getting on the bus.
The bus driver tried to chase it away with a broom, but the dog didn't leave until a neighbor fired a gunshot, according to witnesses.
One of the boys who got bit knew the dog and said they called it Kingston. Braylon, 13, said Kingston got out of his yard and followed him to the bus stop. In the video, Braylon was seen trying to get the dog off of him and away from his friends. When the bus pulled up and the driver told the kids to get inside, the dog followed them and bit another student and the driver.
Braylon got 14 stitches in his arms, fingers, legs and stomach.
"He has so many lacerations, bites, and deep ones and superficial ones. Something needs to happen," his mother, Trinity Montano, said. "He is OK, but he is in pain. It's just not cool, it's not. Out of the kids, he got bit up the worst. He has so many bite marks."
It's not clear how badly the other student and the bus driver were hurt.
The owner said the dog isn't vicious. Animal Control said the dog will be quarantined for 10 days to make sure it doesn't have rabies.
