A wanted woman was arrested by the Thibodaux Police Department after a traffic stop led authorities to a narcotics arrest.
On July 19 just after midnight, Thibodaux Police Officers conducted a stop on a 2002 White Ford Taurus for a traffic violation. Upon stopping, the vehicle near the 1800 block of Canal Boulevard, officers made contact with the driver, identifying her as Taylor Lachney, 27, of Raceland.
During the stop, a Police K-9 alerted officers to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, which led officers to search the interior. The search resulted in the findings of more than 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 15 doses of suspected Xanax and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette.
While on the scene, officers also learned that the suspect was wanted for a separate incident being investigated by LPSO. They later arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect for theft of a motor vehicle.
Lachney was taken to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex where she was booked and charged by both LPSO and Thibodaux Police. For the most recent incident, she is charged with turning movements and required signals, possession of marijuana (1st offense), possession of methamphetamine less than 28 grams and possession of Xanax.
She later posted a $20,600 bond.
