Shauna M. Collier, 31, of Milford, Ind., and Gunnar L. Walker, 25, of Fort Wayne, Ind., each were charged with possession of methamphetamine related to a traffic stop Sunday evening.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 33 near County Road 57 about 9 p.m. observed a sport utility vehicle with dark window tint and initiated the stop.

Collier was identified as the driver and Walker was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputies said neither party had a valid driver’s license and there were two small children in the vehicle and a dog.

During their interaction, deputies said Collier appeared extremely nervous. She consented to a search of the vehicle and all of the occupants were removed from the vehicle during the search.

Deputies located prescription medication inside of an ibuprofen bottle inside a backpack, along with a glass pipe with suspected crystal methamphetamine residue. Another pipe with suspected marijuana residue was located in the passenger side door panel.

In the rear compartment of the SUV, deputies recovered a zipper pouch inside a duffel bag that contained suspected crystal methamphetamine.

Neither of the defendants would claim ownership of the contraband, but both stated that they would fail a drug screen for methamphetamine.

The two defendants were placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.

The two children, ages 1 and 7, and the dog were transported to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Logan County Children’s Services on-call agent was contacted to respond.

A report has been forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of additional charges against the defendants, including child endangering, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Jock L. Freeman, 44, and Robert L. Owens, 25, both of Columbus, each were charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of cocaine during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

Deputies on patrol in the area of State Route 117 near State Route 366 about 2:20 p.m. observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust and a cracked windshield and initiated a stop.
Freeman was identified as the driver and deputies said the passenger, Owens, appeared overly nervous and kept looking down.

Deputies separated the two defendants and they provided conflicting stories about what they were doing that day and how they knew each other.

K9 Thor was deployed and indicated on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and deputies seized individually packaged clear baggies with suspected crack cocaine, digital scales, a small pan and tweezers.

Also in the trunk of the vehicle, deputies located a platter with red and white powdery residue. At the sheriff’s office, the substance tested positive as methamphetamine.
Both men were placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
