MIDDLETOWN — Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s clearance of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine for children, Stop & Shop pharmacies in select stores across the state have begun administering the vaccine to children ages 5 to 11.
In an effort to expand access and raise awareness of availability of such inoculations, Stop & Shop will be hosting vaccine clinics at a handful of locations across the state, including the store at 416 E. Main St. in Middletown, according to a press release.
Trained and pharmacists are taking extensive health and safety precautions at its pharmacies during children’s visits, and, for all other community members’ COVID-19 vaccine appointments, the news release said.
These will be administered to customers at no out-of-pocket cost.
Stop & Shop will be hosting vaccine clinics from 3 to 7 p.m. at several locations, including:
Tuesday, 195 West St., Cromwell
Wednesday, 460 Elm St., West Haven
Thursday, 2335 Dixwell Ave., Hamden
Nov. 20, 128 Samson Rock Road, Madison
Nov. 23, 930 North Colony Road, Wallingford
