Warm start to the week; cooler temperatures ahead - The Dallas Morning News

Warm weather and sunshine kicked off the new week — as North Texas recovers from last week’s bout of colder-than-normal conditions.

Patchy fog reduced visibility in some spots across North Texas, as morning lows lingered in the high 50s on Monday. Afternoon temperatures were expected to be in the mid-70s, according to the National Weather Service.

“It’s going to be a warm start to the workweek,” KXAS-TV (NBC5) meteorologist Grant Johnston said. “Looks like a cool finish though.”

Morning fog and the afternoon warmth is forecast through Wednesday before a cold front knocks temperatures back into the 50s and 60s — though not as cold as last week’s near-record-breaking lows.

A slight chance of rain will accompany the cold front on Wednesday night, but the weekend looks sunny and mild, Johnston said.

Here’s what NBC5′s latest forecast says:

Monday: 74/57, sunny and mild.

Tuesday: 73/57, mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny.

Wednesday: 76/59, partly to mostly cloudy and breezy. A 30% chance of showers or thunderstorms Wednesday night.

Thursday (Veterans Day): 68/49, any rain should end well before sunrise. Clearing skies, breezy and cooler.

Friday: 62/45, sunny, breezy and cooler.

Saturday: 63/39, sunny and cool.

Sunday: 69/41, sunny and milder.
