When deputy constables on Wednesday pulled over a car on the Northwest Freeway, they made an unusual discovery inside the Cadillac: enough meat to fill a walk-in freezer.
The car's back seat contained more than 40 packages of meat, according to the Harris County's Precinct 4 Constables Office. The items, which appeared to mainly be cuts of beef including oxtails, were stolen, according to the office, which posted about the find on social media.

Two men who were in the car were arrested and charged with aggregate theft of items totaling between $750 and $2,500. The meat was taken from four stores — a Walmart, Kroger, H-E-B and Food Town — in Cypress and northwest Houston, according to court records.
The meat was valued at $1,129, according to the constable's office.
The men, who are from Katy and Brookshire, were both released on $2,500 bond. They're both scheduled to appear at arraignment hearings on Nov. 8.
The aggregate theft charge is a Class A misdemeanor that carries a possible punishment of up to a year in jail and a fine of $4,000.
