The final week of 2020 starts with a small snow shower and could end with even more snow.
Monday’s forecast high in Denver is 33 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Snow should start to fall around noon and stop before nightfall. Less than an inch of snow will fall during the day, and another half-inch is expected overnight as the temperature drops to 23 degrees.
Traveling in the mountains will be treacherous all day, while on the plains, icy and snow-covered roads may develop in the evening. The worst of the snowstorm will be in the far northeast corner of Colorado.
More snow is coming Tuesday with a dusting of a half of an inch. Temperatures will reach 35 degrees as winds gust up to 20 mph. Wind will persist Tuesday night as the skies clear and the temperature drops down into the teens.
The sun will poke its way out Wednesday with a high of 40 degrees. There’s another chance of snow on New Year’s Eve into the first morning of 2021.
