A security guard in San Francisco’s Mission District was shot multiple times after he attempted to stop two men from breaking into his car, police said.

A security guard in San Francisco’s Mission District was shot multiple times after he attempted to stop two men from breaking into his car Tuesday night, police said.

The guard was at his workplace in the 1200 block of Shotwell Avenue at about 10:55 p.m. when he spotted two men breaking the window of his car. He confronted the men and was shot multiple times, according to police.

The victim, a 52-year-old male, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police would provide no other details about the incident.
