Two Cheyenne residents are facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Cheyenne Thursday night.
According to arrest records, it all started around 9:43 p.m. when a police officer stopped a white Ford Transit at the intersection of Interstate 25 and College Drive for failing to maintain its lane of travel and for not properly displaying a front license plate.
During the course of the traffic stop, the officer identified 64-year-old Richard Lee Clifton as the driver and 21-year-old Olivia Margaret Merrill as the front-seat passenger.
During a subsequent search of the van, approximately 186 suspected fentanyl pills were located.
Clifton and Merrill were subsequently arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on felony possession and conspiracy drug charges.
The two are scheduled to make their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court this afternoon, May 26, at 1:30 p.m.
