Some quarterbacks are coming into Week 12 with ideal matchups while others seem likely to underperform. We’ve identified two signal-callers who are ideal starters in fantasy football and two who could bust ahead of the action. Let’s go over some of the top options and fades.
Quarterback Starts
Kirk Cousins, Vikings vs. Jaguars
Cousins has been on fire of late, which probably means this is the culmination game where he comes back to earth, but everything is pointing to a strong fantasy day. The Jaguars have been one of the worst pass defense in the league and lately, they’re in a battle with the Jets for the top distinction. Cousins is set up for another strong game and should be started in all formats.
Taysom Hill, Saints vs. Falcons
Can we count on two rushing touchdowns from Hill each week he starts? Probably not, but there’s no doubt he’s going to get his chances. Last week he very much needed those touchdowns, as he barely threw the ball, but the Saints offensive plan was severely limited as they coasted to a win over the QB-less Broncos. Against the Falcons again this week, Hill will need to throw the ball. The Falcons have played better defensively of late, but they were so bad, that the improvement isn’t moving them out of a strong team to target your quarterbacks against.
Quarterback Sits
Matt Ryan, Falcons vs. Saints
The last time Ryan faced the Saints he completed just 51 percent of his passes for 232 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. He might not hit those lows again, but the New Orleans Saints defense and defensive line has been manhandling opponents and they should get another chance to dominate this week.
Kyler Murray, Cardinals vs. Rams
Can you sit Murray? Probably not. But, if you have a strong backup, you have to think about it this week. The Rams have been dominating quarterbacks of late, with Tom Brady and Russell Wilson being their latest victims. Through 11 games, they’ve allowed 11 passing touchdowns and had 11 interceptions while ranking fourth in total sacks. Murray’s shoulder injury obviously slowed him down last week against the Patriots, as he had his worst outing of the season. If he is healthier this week, it should help his rushing upside, but we won’t know how he truly feels until we see him out there.
