GREEN BAY – The Packers took their time about it, more time than they've taken all season.

The opening drive of the second half Sunday at Ford Field needed 14 plays to cover 75 yards and consumed 8 minutes, 49 seconds on the game clock.

It tied the second-longest drive of the season in terms of snaps and was the longest in time of possession, so it's a natural choice for the Chevy Drive of the Week from the 31-24 victory over the Lions.

With the score tied at 14 coming out of halftime, the Packers aimed to retake the lead, but the drive almost never got going.

A deep ball for WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling fell incomplete on third-and-7, but a defensive holding penalty gave the Packers a free first down, and they took full advantage.

Overcoming two of their own holding penalties along the way, the Packers moved the ball steadily downfield. Back-to-back 14-yard completions to WR Allen Lazard and Valdes-Scantling made up for the first holding penalty.

An 11-yard run by RB Aaron Jones preceded the second hold, and Valdes-Scantling atoned for his own penalty with a 21-yard reception on third-and-14 to get the offense into scoring range.

From there, passes of 6 yards to TE Marcedes Lewis and 5 yards to Lazard made it first-and-goal, and QB Aaron Rodgers finished it off with a 6-yard scramble for the TD on third down to give the Packers a lead they would not relinquish.
