COLUMBUS, Ind. – A traffic stop on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of an Elizabethtown man on several charges.

A Columbus Police Department officer and a Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped the operator of a suspicious vehicle in the 1300 block of West Tellman Road at around 5:30 p.m. The driver, identified as Ronald Miller, 49, of Elizabethtown, exited the vehicle and supposedly began yelling at law enforcement.

Police say the man refused to cooperate with them. After a short scuffle, he was secured in handcuffs.

The officers determined that his driver’s license was suspended and they allegedly found methamphetamine in the suspect’s wallet.

Miller was placed under arrest, transported to Bartholomew County Jail, and charged with possession of meth, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended, and disorderly conduct.
