Ressa was originally arrested for allegedly violating media ownership laws and for cyber libel. Whatever happens could impact press freedoms in the Philippines.  A moment of silence Dylann Roof killed nine people five years ago on Wednesday at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. The white supremacist attack on a black Bible study group drew outrage across the country and renewed calls for gun limits.   Juneteenth, when everyone became free Though the Fourth of July is heralded as the day the US gained its freedom, it's no secret that right was not afforded to enslaved people. Friday marks Juneteenth, the date in 1865 when a Union Army general notified slaves in Galveston, Texas, of their freedom. Remembering World Refugee Day In the midst of a global health pandemic and mass demonstrations against police brutality, the spotlight has shifted from the millions displaced around the world. Still, Saturday marks World Refugee Day, a time to remember those who continue to flee violence and war in search of safety. Here comes the sun The summer solstice is Saturday, meaning it'll be the longest day of the year and, officially, summer. For everyone who's been cooped up inside, now may be the time to soak up some Vitamin D. The London Symphony Orchestra has been streaming concerts from its archive for our pandemic pleasure, and this is the last one before most of us would need a plane ticket to see these renowned musicians perform. Tune in at 2:30 p.m. ET or anytime in the following 48 hours. Beach reads, from your home So-called "beach reads" get released this time of year, even though this summer fewer of us are likely to plant our toes in the sand. Rest assured, the books are still coming out, beach optional. Antiracism, for kids Ibram X. Kendi, author of the acclaimed "How to be an Antiracist," has a new book out Tuesday. It's a picture book called "Antiracist Baby," and it's meant to introduce the youngest readers (and their parents!) to antiracism.  Oprah asks, 'Where do we go from here?' The Oprah Winfrey Network just aired a two-night town hall special on the current moment following the death of George Floyd. Did you miss it? No worries. You can watch both nights for free online.   That new Spike Lee joint Lee's new movie, "Da 5 Bloods," just dropped on Netflix. At a time when any new content is welcome, this movie -- exploring racial inequity through the lens of the Vietnam War -- feels particularly pertinent.  Pete Davidson like you haven't seen him before Davidson may be best known for "Saturday Night Live" or his relationship with Ariana Grande, but he's breaking out. His movie "The King of Staten Island" is available on demand. NASCAR races from the headlines to the track The auto racing body stunned -- and gratified -- many last week with a ban on Confederate flags. Its latest race, today in Homestead, Florida, welcomes back a limited number of fans. Watch at 3:30 p.m. ET on Fox.   Baseball is set to restart in Japan Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball is due to resume play Friday, but MLB fans still have to wait. The US league is proposing a 76-game season in an attempt to save the season that was supposed to begin in March.   The Belmont Stakes is on Usually the third leg of the Triple Crown, the event Saturday in New York heads up this year's trio of top US horse races. It will be run at a shorter mile and an eighth length and with no spectators in the stands. The Chinese Basketball Association returns China's pro league is due back Saturday. Its return happens as the NBA has just solidified its July return as it considers letting players opt out of the season. Quiz time!
