Two Arizona men driving in different vehicles but traveling together were arrested when Eagle County authorities found 21 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 2 pounds of suspected heroin and fentanyl pills in their vehicles.
The suspects are identified as Iran Obed Torres, 19, of Phoenix, and Guadalupe Valdez Jr., 21, of Tolleson, according to the sheriff’s office.
About 10 a.m. Thursday, deputies and members of the Gore Range Narcotics Interdiction Team stopped two vehicles for speeding, according to a news release. Both drivers consented to a search of their vehicles, and drug sniffing dogs alerted authorities to the drugs.
On March 19 authorities in Eagle County seized 21 pounds of meth and 1.2 pounds of oxycodone pills in a traffic stop which also used a drug sniffing dog and a suspect, also from Arizona, was arrested in that case.
Torres and Valdez are being investigated for multiple felony charges including unlawful distribution and possession of drugs.
