WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The BIG EAST champion Blue Demons got off to a slow start Friday at the Purdue Fall Invite.
They came up short in seven of the nine doubles matches with singles competition set to start on Saturday.
Freshman Matteo Iaquinto picked up his first collegiate win teaming with Tripp Tuff for a 6-1 triumph over Parrish Simmons and Vince Orlando of Purdue.
Lars Peder Minsaas and freshman Jona Gitschel teamed up for a 6-3 victory over Colton Morehart and Blessing Benibo of IUPUI. It was the first win of Gitschel's collegiate career.
