LAKEWOOD, Ohio –

Shoplifting: Detroit Avenue

The Lakewood police department at 3:15 p.m. on July 22 received a call from Giant Eagle about a man who took several items from the store by attempting to conceal them under a coat. The man left the store and was waiting at a bus stop, according to the caller. Police caught the suspect and charged him with petty theft and drug paraphernalia.

OVI: Clifton Boulevard

Officers at 9:52 p.m. on July 23 responded to an eastbound vehicle on Clifton with a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers stopped the vehicle on W. 117th Street near Madison Avenue. The woman driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Dangerous drugs: Berea Road

Officers at 11:26 p.m. on July 28 responded to a suspicious man behind businesses on Berea Road near W. 117th Street. Police arrested an adult male for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Petty theft: Clifton Boulevard

Police officers at 1:13 a.m. on July 29 cited a man for shoplifting stemming from an incident at CVS pharmacy. The store at 11:28 p.m. on July 28 reported a man wearing a red top and khaki shorts walked out of the store with a 12-pack of Bud Lite beer. Officers found on the suspect on W. 115th Street south of Detroit and issued him the citation. He also was told he was banned from the store and could be charged with trespassing if he returns.

Theft: Clarence Avenue

A resident at 7:36 p.m. on July 27 reported to police that her packages that were delivered by Amazon that day were stolen.

Grand theft vehicle: Coutant Avenue

Police officers on July 28 entered into a police database information about a stolen car belonging to a Coutant Avenue resident. The man reported that a friend, who obtained the keys, took the vehicle.

Petty theft: Clifton Boulevard

A CVS employee notified police at 4:56 a.m. on July 25 that a man stole batteries and left in a vehicle east bound on Clifton Boulevard. Officers stopped the car at W. 104th and Clifton and charged the driver with criminal trespassing ad petty theft, according to a police event report.

Theft: Newman Avenue

A resident at 7:53 a.m. on July 25 called police to report his bicycle was stolen.
