(KNSI) – After getting pulled over for allegedly driving without a license and possession of methamphetamine, a man was taken to the Benton County jail.
A deputy pulled over a pickup truck for expired tabs around 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon near 65th Street Northeast and Golden Spike Road Northeast in Mayhew Lake Township.
The 39-year-old driver from Foley admitted knowing that his tabs were expired and that his driver’s license was revoked.
The man was asked to show proof of insurance on the vehicle, and he did
provide the name of an insurance company and a policy number.
When the deputy attempted to verify the insurance, he learned that the insurance information was fake, and the man was arrested.
While searching the truck, deputies say they found a significant amount of
cash and a small baggie containing a substance believed to be several grams of methamphetamine.
The man is being held on charges of a 5th Degree Controlled Substance Crime, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance, and Driving After Revocation.
