Zack Greinke was on the mound tonight making his 4th start of the Spring with a non-starter lineup behind him. He has been solid so far this Spring and he looked to continue that.
Unfortunately, Greinke didn't have a very crisp outing. The Marlins put a run on Greinke in the 3rd on a Starling Martels RBI triple. After a scoreless 4th, Greinke came back out for the 5th but ended up allowing 2 more runs. He finished with the following line:
4.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Ralph Garza closed out the inning and then Raley and Paredes combined for a scoreless 6th inning. Carson LaRue came on to pitch the 7th but got roughed up as he allowed 3 hits and 3 runs, while retiring just two batters.
Things didn’t get much better... Brett Conine came in and allowed a couple inherited runners to score and gave up one him self, but he did toss two scoreless after that.
The offense was extremely quiet, picking up just 2 hits, a double from C.J. Hinojosa and a double from Jeremy Pena.
Thankfully, its only Spring Training and this was the non-starter lineup.
