An Illinois man was arrested Monday on suspicion of dealing meth, following a LaPorte County traffic stop. Sheriff’s deputies say they pulled over a westbound vehicle for traffic infractions in the 6000 east block of State Road 2.
A police K-9 reportedly alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, and police say a search of the vehicle turned up illegal drugs and paraphernalia. The driver, Jermaine Young, 37, of Harvey, Illinois, is accused of dealing in methamphetamine. His passenger, Chelsey L. Smith, 26, of Anderson, Indiana is accused of unlawful possession of a syringe.
